Like an explorer of yore, I yearned to travel to an undiscovered (to me) continent. I went in search of an adventure, and for my sins, I found one.
Brazil promised the emotional contradictions of bossa nova, the intricacies of jiujitsu, and the violence of the sea over my surfboard.
Surely, I would find myself contentedly passed out on a beach chair, caipirinha in one hand, linguica sandwich in the other?
